FAQ

Q: What is freeze-dried food?

A: It’s a process where food is first frozen then 99% of the moisture is removed through a vacuum. It intensifies the flavour and creates a light, airy texture.

Q: How long does it last?

A: As long as the bag stays sealed, it can last for years! Once opened, keep it zipped tight to maintain that signature crunch.

Q: Do you add extra sugar to your fruits?

A: Nope! It’s 100% fruit with no added preservatives or sugar.

Q: How is freeze-drying different than dehydrating?

A: See comparison chart below for the differences between dehydrating and freeze-drying.

Feature

Dehydrating

Freeze-Drying

The Process

Uses low heat and airflow to evaporate water over several hours.

Uses extreme cold and a vacuum to turn ice directly into vapor (sublimation).

Texture

Chewy, leathery, or tough (think beef jerky or raisins).

Light, airy, and extremely crunchy (shatters like a cracker).

Shelf Life

Roughly 1–5 years (contains ~10% moisture).

Up to 25 years (contains <1% moisture).

Nutrition

Heat can break down some vitamins (retains about 60-75%).

Retains nearly all of the original nutrients because no high heat is used.

Appearance

Shriveled, darker, and much smaller than the original.

Looks almost exactly like the original food, just "puffed up."

Q: WHERE'S THE CANDY?!

A: We stand by our products being nutritionally-dense. Unfortunately candy doesn't fit that description. If you're looking for freeze-dried candy, there are lots of other producers out there but you won't find it here.
